Is this a closed back? Because the staging is simply fantastic for one. The most surprising thing is the soundstage. Imaging is great, but not quite to the level of something like the Sundara. Separation and layering are also great, as this is a planar after all. When I heard cars honking and traffic from outside the recording studio on Amber Rubarth's Session From the 17th Ward, I was impressed. Trailing ends of tones can get lopped off a bit, which isn't a huge deal especially if you don't index for that, but I do. Resolution and detail is top notch and seriously impressive, but can get a slight bit blunted with the tuning filters. Will do some more investigation into this. These seem to suffer greatly from it on some tracks. Treble is bright-ish with no filters, but with the filters it is right where I want it, except the sibilance. Mids are good, very clear and clean, but slightly recessed. Mostly sub bass, it extends well and has authority.
